This message is for the following Altoona Water Authority customers:
- Even-numbered homes from 220 through 500 S 22nd St
- Odd-numbered homes from 203 through 601 S 22nd St
- 2101 Grant Ave
As a customer of the Altoona Water Authority, you were notified on Monday February 22nd 2021 of a water main break at Logan Ave and S 22nd St.
Events such as these may cause a temporary loss of positive water pressure. Any loss of positive water pressure could allow contamination to enter the distribution system through back-flow by back-pressure or back-siphonage. You were therefore advised to use boiled or bottled water (for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and food preparation) until further notice.
We are now pleased to report that all follow-up water samples have been tested, and the system has remained free of contamination. You are no longer required to boil your water; the water is safe to drink.
