The Altoona Water Authority (AWA) is a non-profit municipal authority providing public water supply and sanitary sewer service to almost 70,000 residents in Blair County. The AWA supplies public water service to approximately 23,000 customers. Additionally, the AWA provides "bulk" water to several smaller water utilities which distribute and re-sell to their direct customers. The AWA wastewater collection system serves almost 19,000 customers.
